Beyonce surprises fans worldwide by releasing an unpredicted digital-only self-titled album.


Friday 13th is deemed to be an unlucky date. Friday 13th in the year 2013, may well be even more unlucky, but for Beyoncé fans worldwide today is the best and luckiest day ever. Currently on her world tour the global mega-star fifth studio album was expected to drop sometime next year. However, the unexpected happened this morning when it appeared on iTunes this morning.

Self-titled the album features 14 songs and 17 videos and is currently only available via download. The move was so random Apple didn't even know!

Speaking on what they've described as "an unprecedented strategic move", the company stated that the gorilla tactic allows Bey "to deliver music and visual content directly to her fans when she wants to and how she wants to, with no filter".

Revealing her reasons behind the unpredicted release the star said:

I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it (before). I'm bored with that!

Running her own show by managing herself the "grown woman" went on to say;

I feel like I'm able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and (for it to be) from me to my fans.

Drake's third studio "Nothing Was The Same" goes platinum just under two months of its release.



It hasn't even been two months since the release of Drake's third studio album Nothing Was The Same and it's already sold a million copies and become platinum certified. Now that's super fast! According to Hits Daily Double, the LP sold approximately 38,274 copies this week, pushing it over the 1 million bench mark. The album which is his fastest selling effort yet joins its predecessors, Take Care and Thank Me Later in their platinum glory.

Drizzy is currently in the midst of the US stretch of his 'Would You Like A Tour?', which is set to hit the UK and Europe in February 2014. On air, the radios are currently spinning his latest single 'The Language' which follows his Jay-Z featuring track 'Pound Cake'.

So far there have been mixed reviews about the track, as many were probably expecting a hardcore track, and not soppy lines such as, "I just love when I'm with you!" Basically, the hardcore hip-hop fans and guys loath it while the ladies love it, you can't have it both ways I guess!

The album art work is simple, just the way the Canadian singer-songwriter likes to keep things. With a grainy feel, the art work features a photograph of himself - probably taken on the set of 'Belong To The World'. Above it is his name - and the neon written words "Kiss Land". Nothing spectacular, but not boring. Nevertheless, it's all about the content of the album, we're not judging this album by its cover!

They're back! Late 90s early 00s R&B girl group, Destiny's Child have made a return. After announcing their comeback track 'Nuclear' on Thursday, the trio unleashed it yesterday (Friday 11th). The Pharrell produced track is group's first recording in eight years!

The track appears on their brand new career-spanning compilation Love Songs, due out January 29th via Legacy Recordings. According to US Weekly Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will be joining band-mate Beyonce during her Super Bowl Halftime performance, in February.
