A review on Ipswich hailing singer-songwriter, Richard Osborne's third EP, 'Nothing Personal'.

Back in 2012 I introduced you to the up and coming singer-songwriter Richard Osborne. Two EPs later, with some great collaborations under his belt, he's back with his third release. More confident in his delivery and a lot more mature in sound and lyric Nothing Personal is his best yet!

The EP kicks off with a cheeky bedroom number, 'Wherever I Fall', Richard isn't playing around on this one! The Hip-Hop edge added by Torch at the end of the track pushes the Muckaniks produced track that much more making it not only one for the bedroom but one for the dance-floor.

The tempo slows for the EP title track. The track displays Osborne's knack for storytelling through song. We've all been through that point in a relationship (or even an undefined one) where you just need to take some time out - cue 'it's not you, it's me'. Well he puts it straight, it's 'Nothing Personal!'

Upping the tempo just a little he continues to address the ladies, this time with a question of when is the 'Right Time'. He delves in to a spiral of confusion trying to understand the complexity of the female mind! He doesn't get an answer but it makes a pretty neat track!

We then move into my favourite track out of the six. Now, usually we're used to Richard singing about relationships, but the Kris Flava produced 'Motive' - originally dropped at the end of December - is the ultimate summer jam! Featuring US rappers Ca$his and Mistah F.A.B, the track has a Hip Hop Soul vibe and will have you cutting shapes anywhere! 'Motives' deserves a summer anthem crown!

'We Ready' is what it is. He states his claim, positions himself, shares his desires and what he's about to do. He even squeezes in a bit of Trey Songz verse from 'Successful' between his shout out to some of the people who have helped him make it this far.

To wrap it all up, full circle style is 'Wherever I Fall 2.0'. This refix is more upbeat and features some UK talent in the form of Scorcher and Kid Bookie. This will hopefully draw in the attention he deserves and has worked so hard for over the last few years. Richard has arrived and he's here to stay!
