New Music: Azealia Banks – Count Contessa

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Azealia Banks drops brand new track 'Count Contessa', and drops the date for the sequel to "Fantasea".

After lying low on the music front for a few weeks. Keeping herself occupied and straying from Twitter beef, the Azealia Banks has been busy posting images  (and video snippets) on Instagram, it was surprising when the rapper sprung new music on her fans yesterday afternoon (September 16).

Similar is sound to her smash hit '212', the track entitled 'Count Contessa' track channels 90s house music and is perfect for Voguing around your bedroom!
Produced by Lone, Azealia explained what the track is about:

It's about a woman with a man's physical strength. Like, literally. Count Contessa was a Dyke who won the fist fight with Muscle Mike.
The track is set to appear on her new project, Fantasea II: The Second Wave (the sequel to last year’s Fantasea) set for release next year - July 11 2014. Now how on earth has a small music project got a date before her debut studio album?

Closer to release is her Pharrell Williams featuring track 'ATM Jam'. Azealia recently posted a behind the scenes snap of her on set of the track's official video in a pink sailor suit with the caption, "sailor goon". The catchy track is available for pre-order it via iTunes.

In other news, the Harlem hailing raptress will be touching down on British soil for two occasions. She'll be performing at the Leeds stretch of 1Xtra Live 2013 on October 10 alongside home-grown artists, Wretch 32, Rudimental and Stylo G. A month later, on November 30, Banks will travel South to London for her very own headline show at Brixton's O2 Academy.

While we wait for these dates to pass, listen to 'Count Contessa' above and check out the snippet for the 'ATM Jam' video below.
